The records of Walter DeFilippi contain the general legislative administrative files of his office -legislation promulgated and bills sponsored, collected research on topics of interest, and committee files. The bulk of the collection consists of papers produced from roughly 1990 to 1997; few items extend beyond those dates. Very little is personal correspondence or files directly related to the everyday activity of his office; the majority is related to legislation: bills and related background research, special interests of the office (that did not necessarily lead to legislation), and reports and papers generated by committee hearings, activities, et al. protection of human rights in countries that trade with the U.S.
